The federal government is considering whether the changes to modernize labour standards should include new rules allowing employees to ignore emails outside of work hours. More than 90 per cent of Canadians surveyed for the federal government’s extensive consultation believe employees should have the right not to respond to communication outside work hours; labour organizations and advocacy groups also express overwhelming support for the “right to disconnect.”
